Wilkinson Real Estate’s product focus is securitized real estate, specializing in tenant-in-common (TIC) and Delaware Statutory Trust (DST) offerings, but the company also constantly explores LLC funds, joint venture opportunities, and other investment vehicles.

James T. Wilkinson
President
Jim, who was appointed President of WRE in November 2007, provides the vision and leadership for the WRE team. He began Wilkinson 1031 in 2004 as a startup business of Wilkinson to take part in the burgeoning 1031 tenancy-in-common market. He started working with Wilkinson Corporation (WC) in June 2003 as vice president of Marketing. While at WC, Jim served as project manager for the $25 million Wilkinson Properties Fund VII Limited Partnership, developing, designing, and producing required documents and the related presentation materials. Additionally he helped identify and raise equity for Wilkinson real estate investments. In 1982 Jim co-founded Quest International which became one of the world’s largest travel membership clubs with approximately 4.5 million cardholders. Members were entitled to half-price accommodations at thousands of hotels around the United States with some located internationally. Quest International provided services to Amoco Motor Club, Reader’s Digest, Ford Motor Company (Lincoln and Red Carpet Lease), Chevron, JCPenney, and others. In the spring of 1998 Quest International was acquired by JCPenney Company, Inc. Jim received his degree in Business Administration from Walla Walla College in Walla Walla, Washington. Jim lives in Yakima, Washington with his wife and their four children.

Elizabeth A. Whitman
Executive Vice President & General Counsel
Elizabeth joined Wilkinson 1031 as General Counsel in March 2006 with more than twenty years of experience as an attorney in real estate, finance, and securities matters. In November 2007, she also was appointed General Counsel of WRE. Immediately prior to joining Wilkinson 1031, Elizabeth was an attorney with a Washington, DC area law firm, where her practice was limited to real estate and real estate securities matters. Previously, she served as an Administrative Law Judge for the District of Columbia, as Deputy General Counsel in charge of securities and real estate matters for a public company and as an attorney with Sherman & Sterling in New York City and Squire, Sanders & Dempsey in Columbus, Ohio. Elizabeth received her B.F.A. with honors from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, her J.D. cum laude from The Ohio State University, and her L.L.M. in Securities and Financial Regulation with distinction from Georgetown University. Elizabeth currently serves on the Ethics and Standards and Legislative and Regulatory Committees of the Tenants-in-Common Association (“TICA”) and as Co-Chair of the Real Estate Funds and Investment Subcommittee of the Association of Corporate Counsel Real Estate Committee. She has been a speaker at TICA functions and has authored several articles on legal issues affecting TICs.

George Waymire
Acquisitions Vice President
George joined Wilkinson 1031 in December 2004, and in November 2007, he also became Acquisitions Vice President of WRE. Responsibilities include identifying potential real estate investment opportunities and collaborating with the business development team in bringing transactions to fruition. He previously owned and operated Alpine Photography, a photo marketing company, from 1998-2004. He works with a local youth group as a leader. In 2002, George was team leader for four paraplegics summiting Mount Shasta in California.

Dana Smith
Acquisitions Financial Analysis Director
Dana attended the University of Washington as an economics major until 1980 and then worked in building demolition and construction accounting for nine years. In 1989 he went to work for the Dollar Rent A Car licensee for Seattle and Portland, which has large airport parking and property development affiliates, as fleet accounting manager. He managed the companies’ banking facilities in excess of $70 million, handled accounting for over $1.3 billion of total fleet transactions in 14 years, coordinated corporate litigation, and also served as computer systems administrator. After marrying in 2003 he moved to Kennewick, Washington and worked as a mortgage loan officer until joining the Wilkinson team. Most of his work is centered on acquisitions underwriting but he also manages the banking relationships for WRE’s Acquisitions Department.
